Hiking Routes

Each week we offer you a wide choice of hikes with different levels of difficulty.

ALL-DAY HIKE UP THE MUSSEN
with Hans Plattner (Alpine Spring)
A mountain hike that takes in the most beautiful flora of the Eastern Alps. Takes 5 hours. Worth looking out for: white St. Bruno’s lily and yellow gentian.

MOUNTAIN AND CLIMBING TOUR UP THE ROSSKOFEL (2240m)
with Hans Plattner (Alpine Summer)
Along the fixed rope route of Via Ferrata Contin to the summit. Descent to the Rudnigalm. Takes 6 hours. Good head for heights and surefootedness required.

ALL-DAY HIKE TO THE CIMA DI TERRA ROSSA (2,240m)
(Alpine Summer)
A tour in Italy featuring wonderful panoramic views and beautiful Alpine flora plus the home of the Alpine ibex. Surefootedness and good condition required. Takes about 5 hours.

GARNITZERKLAMM
with Grandpa Plattner (Alpine Summer)
We’ll be walking along the first, second and third part. Return via St. Urbani, refreshments break at the Garnitzerklamm inn (by the entrance). Good footwear and surefootedness required.

MAUTHNER KLAMM
with Hans Plattner (Alpine Summer)
A secured fixed rope route with plenty of spray and water along the Klapauter Steig. Good footwear and surefootedness required.

WEISSENBACHKLAMM
with Grandpa Plattner (Alpine Summer)
A brief stroll through the gorge, romantic spots, a beautiful circular trail. Good footwear and surefootedness required.

A HIKE AROUND THE WEISSENSEE
with Hans Plattner (The Joy of Hiking)
We hike along Austria’s most beautiful, pristine lake for bathing and return by boat across the lake. Takes about 2.5 hours.

A HIKE FROM THE EGGER ALM TO THE POLUDNIG

Across the Garnitzenberg to the Garnitzenalm and from there on to the Stutenalm. Along the Zielkofel to the Egger Alm. If you want, you can then go on a mountain tour up to the Poludnig (1,990 m).

ALL-DAY HIKE TO WOLAYER SEE
with Hans Plattner (The Joy of Hiking)
From the Lesachtal-Nostra to the Wolayer See, the most beautiful Alpine lake at 1,951 m above sea level. An all-day hike along the highest mountains in the Carnic Alps. Takes about 6 hours.

MOUNTAIN TOUR OF CIMA DEL CACCIATORE (2,071 m)

By cableway up to Maria Lussari, a place of pilgrimage. A tour of intermediate difficulty up to the Cima del Cacciatore. Takes about 3 hours.

ALL-DAY TOUR ROUND THE GARTNERKOFEL

From the Watschiger Alm to the Garnitzenthörl, then up the Garnitzenalm to the Garnitzerklamm and Kühweger Alm. Back across the Kühweger Thörl. Takes about 5hours.

ALL-DAY HIKE: FINDENIG-MONTE LODIN (2015 m)

This mountain tour, itself an excursion through the sites of past wars, offers tremendous panoramic views. It takes place in the heart of the Carnic Alps and features a circular tour to Zollner See, the Dr. Steinwender Alpine hut and the Zollner chapel. Takes about 6 hours. Good condition required.
